As a tourist area, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol turned out to have stood since the 17th century. At that time, the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies, Adriaan Valckenier, has a very lovely cottage by the beach. Over time, the area was later developed into tourist attractions.
Unfortunately, when World War II broke out, followed the war for independence, Ancol forgotten. Ciliwung freely spilling water and mud to get there, which changed the region to become dirty, dirty, and muddy. The area is pretty original, turned into a creepy like 'the genie exhaust the child'.
Then, there was a suggestion for the region is enabled to be industrial. However, the proposal was rejected by President Sukarno. In fact, Bung Karno want to build the region as a tourist area. Taman Impian Jaya Ancol particularity in the early days of its establishment was marked by the construction of Car Theatre in 1970.
